WV History w/ Legends Cup: Why We Must Win

Hallelujah, Water Vikings!

As we enter Legends Cup XV, many newer people in the army ultimately have little clue about what Legends Cup is, our history with Legends Cup, and the importance that it holds. While I briefly explained in the Discord server a few times, including with a channel, nothing has quite captured the history and importance of the tournament. The goal of this post is to immerse you all with the history of Legends Cup, as well as Water Vikings.

WATER VIKINGS PRESENTS – Legends Cup: Ocean Breakthrough

It is that time again, my friends.

Indeed, yet another tournament is here before us – but this is not just any normal tournament. This is Legends Cup XV. Yes. The fifteenth Legends Cup since the start of it in 2010. This is a big year for Club Penguin Armies, as well as a big year for Legends Cup itself. And we, the Water Vikings, are here for yet another year to participate… but this time it’s a bit different.

You see, my friends, this year marks a decade since the Water Vikings first reached the finals in the Legends Cup. Ten years ago around this time, the Water Vikings reached the finals in Legends Cup VI, only to be beaten by the Rebel Penguin Federation. The following year, the Water Vikings once again reached the finalsonce again to be beaten by RPF in the finals. These two losses (although primarily the first) are some of the most controversial in CPA history, primarily due to the allegations of bias and rigging against the Water Vikings. Whether or not that is true, it does not change the fact that the Water Vikings pushed hard in 2015/2016 in an attempt to win the Legends Cup, just to fall short in the finals. Six years after our last time reaching the finals, we reached the finals once again in 2022 against the Templars, again losing. This loss was once again riddled with controversy, as our opponent was exposed for multilogging after years of speculation and damning evidence, originating all the way back to 2018. Notice a trend? It seems every time we reach the finals in this tournament, we fall short due to circumstances that we barely can do anything about. After a decade of trying in this tournament, there has been no closure achieved for us in regards to this tournament. A decade of multiple leaders working to achieve this goal, often falling short right at the end because of circumstances that we simply could not change.

Water Vikings versus Templars, 2022

Well my friends, with a month of averaging around 29 max throughout all of our events, we made ourselves in the top three largest armies with CPAB max, especially when you remove allies from consideration. Indeed, since our return in February, we managed to rise up these past five months reaching a peak position at #3 on the Top Ten, barely falling short of second place, which was only guaranteed to the army above us due to battle points, and not by size. Indeed, we have come together, locked in, and put in a serious amount of work over these months through our recruiting/retention projects, internal restructuring, and networking across the army to develop one of the best teams in the community at the moment. There has not been this much hype for Legends Cup in this army since 2022 – and with how things are going, unless someone decides to multilog (we all know who lol), I am confident that we are the army to reach the finals this year. The finals is not the goal, my friends, no. Instead, we need to win, and finally bring closure to the decade of working towards this goal. Many leaders and teams here have dreamt of and worked hard towards Water Vikings finally winning this tournament. My friends, while the odds are not astoundingly in our favor, the mere fact is we can win this tournament. And we will see to such a victory.

With that in mind, to further motivate you all and reward you all for the amazing work that we must put in to win this tournament, I am proud to announce on behalf of the leadership a new challenge and means for all people in this army to participate – Legends Cup: Ocean Breakthrough. Read on for more.

Road to Frost Frenzy

Hello, Water Vikings.

I’m sure many of you are aware that this year we intend on taking the tournament scene pretty seriously, using every tournament along the way as practice for Legends Cup. So far this year we have participated in two tournaments: Candy Crusher Brawl and March Madness. In the former of the two, we would go onto win by a small margin after some fierce competition. We have had a lot of fun, but since March Madness things have been relatively quiet. Fortunately, an organization known as Club Penguin Armies Official has been on the rise lately, and is hosting their first tournamentFrost Frenzy. Unlike the previous minor tournament, this one is going to be in a bracket format, meaning we will be competing against several armies over a span of several weekends. In addition, we plan to help support this organization more and more as they try to innovate the community! So, with that being said, the Water Vikings are officially taking part in Frost Frenzy.

That being said, what is the plan? Well, my friends the plan is to win! This will be the third tournament that we have taken part of this year, and not only will this be amazing practice, but we have an awesome opportunity to not only bring home a trophy, but also to help out the community. To celebrate such an event, we plan to be holding more frequent game nights, as well as a recruiting competition! Like Ocean Steadfast, we plan to give back to our community for their hard work. Due to this tournament being relatively smaller scale, we will not be doing a massive competition that will take into account various factors, instead we will be tracking recruiting and welcomes. The competition will begin today, 20 April 2025 until 11 May 2025. Read below for the rewards and how to take part:

[AM] Invasion of Rainy & Conquest Celebration

Good evening, Water Vikings.

Over the past week we have done something that we have not done in quite a while – daily events. It’s something that has not been practiced here in Water Vikings (and to be fair, many armies) for quite a while. However, in an attempt to secure tons of land for our army following the reintroduction of the Club Penguin Armies map, we took the initiative to conquest as fast and as efficiently as we could. Today marks the end of the daily events, for now. To celebrate, we held only a 20 minute event where we practiced some formations, and held a tiny little battle training. It was nice to relax, as well as just do some fun stuff. Read below for some pictures, as well as token of my gratitude to you all!

|| Water Vikings Presents || March Madness: OCEAN STEADFAST

WHAT’S UP, WATER VIKINGS!

Around this time last year, we here at the Water Vikings successfully won our first ever March Madness tournament, March Madness IX, after many years of being snubbed of victory due to external factors outside of our control. For the first time in our history, we finally outdid our main March Madness competitor (and brother-ally), the Rebel Penguin Federation. This victory was not only filled with unexpected moments (such as maxing over 60), but was one of our greatest feats since the Water Vikings revival for the CPPS generation back in 2020. Indeed, the victory will forever be cherished as one of our best moments, and a great moment for the year of 2024 itself.

Just last month, Club Penguin Armies announced yet another rendition of the March Madness tournament – March Madness X. All of us here at the High Command of the Water Vikings are eager to defend our title as the March Madness champions for yet another year. To be able to consecutively win March Madness two years in a row, against all odds, would be nothing short of an amazing feat. In our journey to achieve this feat, we want all to take part and bring us to yet another year of victory!

So, at the drawing boards, we thought to ourselves – “what can we do to make March Madness truly ours“. To answer that, we here at the High Command of the Water Vikings are proud to present – March Madness: Ocean Steadfast.

waaaaaa wv betrayed us as allies waaaaaaaaaaa waaaaaaaaaaa

Waaaaaa WV betrayed EGCP because they were afraid of being beaten by an alliance but now we’re winning yet WV pussied out waaaaa 😭😭😭😭😭

We stood up for you despite your alliance with Dark Vikings and your disqualification from your solo war with ACP. We stood up for you even when it was wrong to. Our golden age in May ended prematurely because we and RPF bailed you out in tiresome battles that you almost choked even with the size advantage due to rough leading (me and Aaron even gave you pointers on how to improve which you ignored anyways).

We honestly damaged our global reputation and standing because we actually valued you. We did ALL of this because you actually cared about you as allies. But now you want to spin the narrative when it is conveniant? Fuck off.

You rejected our help and did this to yourself. We’ve had to put with your bottled hatred of us during the infamous Alabama Plan (WHICH DIDN’T EVEN NEGATIVELY AFFECT YOU, BTW LOL). And even despite that we treated you with respect even when you couldn’t reciprocate it back (like how we stepped outside of our comfort zone for an “AUSIA battle” at a different time and you nearly no-showed). We actually saw you almost like brothers like with RPF, but I guess that was all in vein.

The Water Vikings formally designate the Elite Guardians as an enemy army. This does not mean we are at war (see:Fiende til hæren” classification on our Empire page), but any formal foreign relations are indefinitely suspended going forward. And before you accuse us of wanting to start beef/wanting a war, stop bringing us into beef that doesn’t involve us in the first place lol. Your zealotry and over-pride has only been destructive for you this generation, especially when you constantly hurl subtle (and not-so-subtle) jabs at us both after the World War and especially now.

P.S. Don’t equate armies to terrorist regimes. Bluesockwa1 made a good post about this.

Statement Re: Community War on EGCP

For immediate release, addressed to the Water Vikings and the Army Community:

As of writing this statement, 4 armies—the Army of Club Penguin, People’s Imperial Confederation, Templars of Club Penguin, and Coup Crusaders—declared a state of war against our allies, the Elite Guardians of Club Penguin. In their declarations is a set of multiple charges, some of which are genuinely concerning and deserve to be admonished. The Water Vikings were informed of some (but not all) of the evidence days in advance which we found appalling.

Despite allies being allowed, the Water Vikings will not be directly intervening in the war on EGCP’s side nor will we be providing troops to help EGCP. Whilst we heavily condemn the character assassination on Edu14463, we are unable to look past other valid issues. Not only that, but we have felt that our alliance with EGCP has waned since World War 9.

Originally only declaring war on ACP in a preemptive decision to prevent a fledging new, revived EGCP from being attacked from what EGCP described as “ACP imperialism”, we have felt EGCP has ironically become the very thing they asked to stop. The stress we and our brother allies, the RPF, dealt with when collaborating with EGCP in BSA left irreconcilable diplomatic agendas. It did not help that EGCP pursued an alliance with the Dark Vikings and did not listen to us when advising them to avoid controversy.

WV has enjoyed repairing relations with the PICCP and TCP, and do not believe prostituting ourselves for allies who have not listened to us makes any sense whatsoever. It feels like being spit in the face after we naively felt EGCP would listen to our advice on how to not get into controversy. We will not be intervening in a war that not only has no gain for WV, but would be extremely naive to enable EGCP’s actions. We do not believe EGCP deserves to be thrown out of the community and still affirm our camaraderie with their army. However, we believe EGCP has brought this upon themselves and must learn the hard way after we have tried to bail them out on numerous occasions.

We remain solely committed to winning Christmas Chaos, and we hope to see all WV veterans attend as we look to make history.

P.S. WV always had intentions of making this statement, but purposely waited for declarations to drop. I have conveyed this to TCP leader Dawnables contrary to public opinion. I personally wanted WV HCOM to review before dropping. We do not tolerate the unnecessary slander, especially since if we had sided with EGCP we would’ve provided them the proof we were shown in advance.
