Greetings, Water Vikings!

With the recent announcement of the upcoming Legends Cup, the time has come for us to once again bring back our annual Recruiting & Event competition.

Over the last few months, our growth as an army has improved drastically and substantially. Going from the low twenties to mid thirties and beyond, the Water Vikings have been on a steady uphill climb in preparation for the upcoming Legends Cup- including making the decision to abstain from the Around The World Competition to focus on ourselves, our community and our competency. Every year, we are met with the most highly anticipated competition in CPA: the Legends Cup. Every year, Water Vikings takes part in this, pulling incredible numbers and putting in substantial effort. We came close to victory in 2015/2016, as well as 2022 against the Templars. With our incredible growth, we have a good shot at winning this year.

But winning does not come from one person. Nor does it come from just the leaders. It comes from US as a whole, working together as a team to boost each other up and secure our success. It comes in the form as effort from everyone. Troops, Staff, HCOM, HCOV, Leaders. Everybody here is important. MISSION: FROSTBITE

Every year, Water Vikings hosts a competition to boost recruitment, engagement and turnout within our community. This year, Mission Frostbite shall be taking place in the run-up to Legends Cup and throughout it.

How does it work?

The competition focuses on growing our community as well as introducing those to our CPAB format and getting them familiar with how it works. Therefore, the main focuses are split into Recruiting, Welcoming and Walkthroughs. There are two divisions, staff and troops. It will be based on a progressive points system which totals up and resets after 1 week. At the end of each week, there will be two winners per week, one from each category. Additionally, there will be four runner ups per week. Two from Staff, and two from Troops. At the very end of the competition, the divisions will be totaled, and there will be one winner and one runner up per division. The only requirement to take part in this to join the Water Vikings Recruiting Regiment, also known as WVRR. This means that WVRR will be resuming operations in accordance with this competition, and you can sign up in the #wvrr-signups channel in Discord.

Recruiting

Recruiting is when you invite new troops to join the Discord server. There are two methods to this.

1. Discord Recruiting – This is done by entering other, highly populated Discord servers and inviting them to the server through DMing them. For your account safety, it is often best advised to use a recruiting alt (spare discord account) to recruit these people.
2. CPJ Recruiting – This method involves logging into Club Penguin Journey and scouting out potential penguins who are interested in joining our community. Once again, it is advised that you use a alternate account for this method as well.

 

Welcoming

Welcoming is where when a new troop joins the server, they are greeted by a member of the community and introduced to the server. This includes explaining how CPJ and CPAB works, but overall introducing them in a friendly manner and encouraging them to get verified. A successful welcome includes activating their CPAB account through the CPAB Discord server itself. The importance of welcoming is emphasized by the fact that a troops first impression when it comes to joining the server determines what they think of us as a community. Be friendly, approachable and engaging and they will want to stay.

 

Walkthroughs

Following a successful activation, a walkthrough is where you login to CPAB with your newly registered recruit and show them the ropes of how CPAB works- from getting into the Water Vikings uniform and briefly showing them emotes. This part is integral to making sure new recruits don’t feel overwhelmed or confused when they attend their very first event.

 

The Points System

For every task, there will be a certain amount of points available to claim. At the end of each week, those with the most amount of points will receive a weekly award. The same person cannot be a winner for two consecutive weeks running, to ensure competitive fairness. At the end of each week there will be two winners and four runner ups- one winner from each category, and two runner ups per category.

Proposed point system:

Discord Recruit: 3 points
CPJ Recruit: 4 points
CPAB Activation: 4 points
Walkthrough on CPAB: 5 points

Bonuses:
If said register attends a CPAB event/CPJ event then they receive 2 points.

If said register attends a Legends Cup battle, then they receive 4 points

Rewards

End of week winners (applies to both staff and troop division):
1st: 1x Basic Nitro + 1000 Silver
2nd: 750 silver
3rd: 500 silver

Final winners: one winner and one runner up per division:

ONLY if we win:
1st: $25 + 3000 Silver
2nd: 1x Monthly Nitro + 1500 Silver

 

If we lose:

1st: $15 + 2000 Silver
2nd: 1x Basic Nitro + 1500 Silver

 

 

Additional information

We do not expect troops to immediately know how to recruit, welcome, activate and walkthrough. To make this journey easier, workshops will be hosted by Leaders and HCOM during the early stages of the competition, specializing on the two different areas of CPJ recruiting, welcoming, and how keeping track of points works. These sessions will be clearly communicated to all troops and participants in Mission: Frostbite. Final words

This competition is supposed to be a united effort to bring out the best results in the Legends Cup- it won’t work without effort from all of us. At the end of the day we are united as a community and as a family. Our efforts over the last few months have bared fruitful results with a fantastic size increase and greatly improved quality when it comes to our formations and tactics. That is EXACTLY what we want for Legends Cup, to keep striving higher and win. Together we can do this, and this competition serves as healthy motivation to help all of us reach that goal.
