Community Reacts: Lydia’s Retirement

Hello, Vikings! Today I interviewed the community on the departure of the very great, glorious, and gracious Lydia! I asked about their most treasured moments, sad ones, and how Lydia effected them herself! This was a very great project and seeing all the different thoughts and opinions of people on her retirement was a great experience!

#1 Overtime, how has it been leading alongside Lydia

Stevos: It’s been good, she’s been in the community for the same as I have and she has a lot of experience. Good at communication and dealing with stuff internally

Darci: Leading with Lydia was great, she’s very experienced and knowledgeable. She’s a great person overall to learn from and someone positive for us.

Escot: Leading with Lydia was great, considering her experience in all her years here and her understanding of internal affairs and WV academy.

#2 What were some of her key moments in the army

Stevos: She really stepped up to the plate to lead alongside me and Escot during the TCP war

Darci: Gosh there’s too many to remember..

Escot: Honestly there were a lot to choose from like leading tournaments and the wars and such even more.

#3 How greatly has Lydia contributed to WV

Stevos: She has been a huge contribution to Viking Academy, alongside DrQueen. Showing and mentioning new staff to be the greatest they can ever be.

Darci: She’s made fantastic contributions, especially to our Viking Academy to train new staff. Her and Drqueen have done a fantastic job creating a SiT program that will ensure our incoming staff are familiar with how things work. Her work is commendable and we’re extremely grateful to still have her around to help us out there 🙂

Escot: Shes been key to training our new staff in WV. Drq and her have been cooking with the SiT program, the incoming staffs work has truly shown part of their potential from VA Academy. We’re extremely grateful for her help honestly.

#4 How has Lydia affected/helped troops around her

Stevos: She has a good sense of humor and you always need that unserious leader who doesn’t make an army seem that stressful all the time.

Darci: Lydia’s a fun person and definitely brings that vibe for us. She’s always a joy to have in chat and brings the fun whenever we’re just all being ourselves.

Escot: Lydia’s pretty funny and a vibe in chat. Even her during autism hours is lowkey hilarious lmao.

#5 How does Lydia’s retirement affect you

Stevos: It was great to lead alongside her because she really helped me and Escot when I came into leadership, so I have to pay credit where it’s due. I hope she has an amazing retirement

Darci: It was an incredible honour to have Lydia lead Water Vikings. I hope that with myself, Escot, and Stevos, we can continue to achieve great heights similar to what we were at before.

Escot: She’s low-key one of the better co leaders I’ve worked with I can’t deny that. It was an honor to have her lead alongside myself, Darci, and Stevos. We will continue to achieve more things in the army for our better future

HCOV SEGMENT

#1 Overtime, how has Lydia grown in WV

Mabel: By a lot. Honestly, when she first joined Water Vikings, it was obviously just to mess around, the girl was not really all that interested in armies anymore, and it was obvious from my conversations I had with her. I never thought I would see her actually want to lead WV, and when the opportunity came, I’m glad she took it. She already had great leadership skills from her past leadership roles in other armies, and with Water Vikings struggles at the time, we needed someone to push the army forward.

#2 What were some of her key moments in the army

Mabel: Beating the absolute shit out of TCP LMFAOOO it’s been done before, but with the numbers they were able to pull off and with TCP practically dropping like flies, it was amazing to see what could be pulled off.

#3 How greatly has Lydia contributed to WV

Mabel: Lydia has probably been one of our strongest leaders we’ve had since mine and Dino’s retirement. She brought in a lot of great ideas to WV, which has affected very positively for everyone.

#4 How has Lydia affected/helped troops around her?

Mabel: I think for her, just being friendly overall has kept all the troops around. People will leave, but encouraging the troops to stay for events or log on for other events outside of CPA has been a big help in her success as leader.

#5 How does Lydia’s retirement affect you

Mabel: Won’t affect me cause I’ll be seeing her at In n Out next week anyways and force her to make me 5 number 3’s and 10 chocolate shakes with a 20 side of animal style fries, idk about the others though . But in all seriousness, she deserves to finally retire, the same process will happen to where some troops will get demotivated due to her retiring, as they did with other leaders, but it will pick back up for everyone, so I’m not worried about the state of the army in the sense of her retirement.

NEWER TROOP SEGMENT

#1 How has it been as a newer troop being led by Lydia

Alexplug: It has been an incredible experience. During the almost two months I have been a part of WV, I have thoroughly enjoyed all the events I have attended. Whenever Lydia takes charge of leading, it is no exception—fun is always guaranteed! Her leadership truly makes every event engaging.

#2 What were some of your favorite moments with Lydia

AlexplugPersonally, I have not had the opportunity to interact with her very closely. However, if I had to choose a favorite moment, it would undoubtedly be her recent retirement event. Being there was a truly memorable experience. I honestly wish I could have spent more time getting to know her!

#3 Has there been any times Lydia has helped you

Alexplug: In my personal experience, we haven’t worked together directly, but I have heard wonderful things about everything Lydia has done for the amazing WV family. I have absolutely no doubt that she has positively impacted the experience of many people on the server and throughout the Club Penguin community during her time here.

#4 How do you think other troops are taking Lydia’s retirement

Alexplug: Without a doubt, as with any retirement, people will greatly miss her company. However, we all understand that it is a natural part of life. We are not machines that can be online 24/7 in this virtual world; we also have lives and responsibilities out there in the real world.

#5 How does Lydia’s retirement affect you

Alexplug: Personally, I have always disliked retirements, but I know they are necessary and simply a part of life. As a member of WV, I believe her departure will impact us all in some way, but we will always support her. Of course, the doors will always remain open for her to return at any time. I am deeply grateful for her dedication and support to this great family!

Throughout all of these interviews WeeVee this was truly a heartwarming and wrenching moment for some people, but after everything else seeing Lydia get the retirement she wanted was such a nice sight to see for her, but never forget WeeVee Lydia will always be there for us whenever we are in need! – Mr. West
