Frostbite, Water Vikings Capital — This is it. This is the last one. It is the final. We are a couple of hours from the first round of the Legends Cup; we can do it. One, two…. Hello Water Vikings! Welcome back to On the Road to Legends Cup; A column where we sat down with previous staff, HCOV members and leaders to talk about the biggest tournament in CPA: Legends Cup. Last week, we sat down with our Viking Commander and match lover: Escot. The final episode of this series is about…. The one and only: Cobra.

In this week episode, Ocean Oracle had the chance to sit down with Cobra, ex Viking Commander, one of the leaders that put Water Vikings on track for Legends Cup XV, currently a Veteran of the army and a member of the High Council of Vikings (HCOV).

Tell us more about yourself
Hi I’m Cobra. I’m currently one of the sitting High Council of Vikings (HCOV) members here at WV, which are the body of people who are considered the co-owners of the army. I first entered the army community in 2013, but have been around in some capacity at a relatively consistent time since 2017. I had a pretty bombastic career as a leader of a few medium armies and a diplomat of major armies back in the day (namely the Elite Guardians, a Brazilian army), before returning in 2023 to later lead the Elite Guardians. I joined WV on November 1st 2024, and have fell in love with the community since. Outside of CPA I study computer science in college, play games, garden, and play the guitar.
As one of the leaders who shaped Water Vikings for Legends Cup LCXV, how do you feel about this year’s LC?
I feel this is going to potentially be a very interesting Legends Cup. With armies like Aliens and Templars not participating, and with more armies potentially not, the competition in my eyes really boils down to WV-RPF-ACP for the major armies. Since we are in a bracket with RPF, and RPF’s dominance has waned a bit, I think it is entirely possible that we may have a chance to reach our first time hitting the Legends Cup finals since 2022, which will make it our fourth time doing so. Will we win if that occurs? Certainly had to say, but anything can happen.
We heard rumours about you last year. Is it true that you put the Water Vikings under ‘strict’ training?
Absolutely. Every from mid July until the remaining duration of the tournament consisted of training events that were either themed trainings, outright trainings, or trainings based on propaganda. I was very thorough since we had a lot of non-CP recruits and we had to transform ourselves in a short period of time to be able to match RPF.
If you could describe your experience with the tournament, how would you describe it?
Certainly stressful. I was the primary leader at the time, so I was calling the majority of the shots and organizing the efforts. Even though we didn’t win, I still had a lot of fun seeing the work pay-off and seeing WV enter an internal golden age due to how active our army was for that summer (and the next 2 months following LC). Definitely not an easy task, though, that’s for sure.
What rank did you reach, and what did you achieve before retiring?
I suppose I was a commander! I achieved my main goal of revitalizing the army back to major status and become relatively stable. For all facts and purposes, I’m really happy to say that I’m happy my work prevented WV from being closed as that was something being toyed with at that time. Without that, I wouldn’t have met all of the wonderful people and had such a good time.
What achievements during LC were you most proud of yourself and the army?
Our LC run was really centered on training hard and growing. We achieved #1 three times due to the Legends Cup run, and a further 2 after I retired. We hit our all-time highest max of 88/91 (depending how you count it), and we managed to match RPF in such a short period of time with Fortnite recruits lol. I was pretty proud we managed to pull all of that off even if we lost. For a while, WV was a decent superpower since our LC run also gave us the best AUSIA for a bit.
Based on our performance from last year and the momentum we have so far this year, do you think we can win LC this year?
Anything is possible.
Do you think you will take part in this year’s tournament alongside the current leaders?
In whatever capacity that they request. I’ll always be here for LC.
Do you have anything else you want to add?
For the Raven!

Thank you, Cobra, for this interview and for taking the time to answer our questions. This is the end of our column, On The Road to Legends Cup. We hope this inspired you and helped you all to understand where these legends come from.
For Legends Cup, do it for the Raven. Good luck with this first battle and this run in LCXVI.
