Hello, Water Vikings.

This post may or may not have come as a shock, and I apologize for the amount of time it has taken for us to get this out. 

As you may have been aware, we were participating in a tournament called Frost Frenzy for the Club Penguin Armies Online tournament, which you can read our post about here. However, this month, various things has occurred within the community, as well as the CPAO tournament. Around The World Cup II, a tournament that Water Vikings fought hard in last year, was announced by the Club Penguin Armies organization. As a response, the Templars left the Frost Frenzy tournament, leaving no major army competition in the tournament. Part of the original reason why we joined was due to their being major army support in this tournament, as some of us felt it would be unfair for a singular major army to dominate a tournament full of S/M armies. The Templars exited this tournament as a response to Around The World Cup, which demotivated us to continue participating, as we did not want to fight only S/Ms. That would be unfair. In addition, allegations have been brought to our attention in regards to CPAO, which we cannot willingly support an organization with those allegations behind. That being said, we are focusing all efforts on Around The World Cup.

The Plan

Due to us leaving Frost Frenzy, we are transferring the competition from Frost Frenzy to ATWC, and will be extending it into June when the tournament concludes. Everyone’s progress on Frost Frenzy has not been lost, and will be considered further. To make up for this, we intend on holding more frequent game nights, as well, and may even begin planning with some server themes for the army as well. Read below for information about the competition.

How to Take Part

In order to take part in this competition, you will have to be either a part of the Water Vikings Recruitment Regiment or a member of the Water Vikings staff. Anyone can become a member of the WVRR, and all you have to do is DM a leader (users: savagecobra or ouigi.com) or the Minister of Recruitment, Escot (es0t27). We can assign you the role, and give you the ropes of how everything works. Below are some tips on what to do:

Recruiting

Recruiting is the process of inviting someone to our Discord server. While this seems easy in theory, it does require a bit of precision and diligence. You are highly encouraged to use an alternative Discord account. You are free to approach people in any server and invite them here (as long as it is not a NSFW server), and remember to send a friend request to them! If you need any tips on recruiting, I would highly recommend speaking to Escot (es0t27) on Discord for some tips. From there, in our #cpab-registrations channel, put the user that you recruited!

Welcoming

Welcoming is the hardest part. Welcoming is the process of getting someone registered on Club Penguin Armies Battleground (the game that we use). Again, there are lot of nuances and this post does not serve as a means of being a tutorial, therefore if you have any questions, it is important to ask our best welcomer – Trails (louzlyn). To put it short, make sure you develop a connection with a recruit, and make sure you get them registered. From there, in our #cpab-registrations channel, put the user that you welcomed and their CPAB user!

Points System

Whoever gets the most points will win.

– 10 points per recruit (bonus of 5 if they attend)
– 15 points per welcome (bonus of 5 if they attend; bonus of 5 if the welcome is your own recruit)

Rewards

Below are the awards being offered (regardless if we win our not):
– 1st place -> 15 dollars
– 2nd place -> Boost Nitro or Avatar Decoration
– 3rd place -> Classic Nitro

The Road Forward (Again)

Once again, we hope this tournament will serve as a means of training for Legends Cup this summer. This tournament hopefully will be loads of fun, in addition to allowing us to avenge the ATWC trophy.
