Frostbite, Viking Academy HQ – It is with great pride that Water Vikings officially announces the graduation of our second class from Viking Academy, a Staff Training Program, developed to train Water Viking troops and CP veterans on what it takes to become a successful staff member within the Water Vikings.
History
Viking Academy was founded in early 2024 with one clear mission: Train and Succeed. The idea for the Academy was suggested by DrQueen, who recognized there was no proper training for incoming staff, which had operated on a “sink or swim” model. Recognizing this needed to be a major fix in order to keep staff turnover rate low, Water Vikings SIT Training Academy (the Academy’s former name) was born. At the beginning of 2025, Trails, Rye, Cobra, DrQueen, and Aaronstone teamed up to completely redo the program. The revamped program now focuses on building key skills like teamwork, communication, and mentorship, all while helping members better understand what it means to be part of the Water Vikings Staff team. Together, a newly improved Viking Academy was born. The academy also would like to recognize: Escot, Chey, Lydia, Slash, and Dino, who all assisted as key writers for our lessons and voice into overall program development.

I want to dedicate this post to one of the Viking Academy’s Co-Founders and my Viking Academy Professor-in-crime, Trails. Thank you for everything you’ve done for the Viking Academy. The countless hours, the dedication, and the personal attention you’ve given to each student. I can’t thank you enough, and I’m incredibly proud of what you’ve built and the lasting impact you’ve left behind. You’ve taught me the true qualities needed for staff training to succeed. It wasn’t always easy, but the memories and chaos was worth it. It was an honor to have worked alongside you these past few months. Enjoy your well-deserved retirement my friend.
