Hello, Water Vikings! As part of our month-long anniversary celebration, we’re launching a limited edition column that looks back at the currents that shaped the Water Vikings across the years. Each piece will spotlight someone who helped steer the army during a different era, letting us trace how their decisions pushed the tide forward. While this series continues, our lovely staff members Sparky and Rye interviewed current advisory members Viv and Pjayo, who led the army together from 2020-2021. I would go into some detail about their army experience, but they answered it in the very first question. Go check it out!
What’s some of your army experience?
Pjayo: Found out about armies in 2012, was a rogue who would try and catch up with both ACP and IW at the time, enlisted in ACP in 2013, moved to DCP, got 4ic, then thrown out of DCP, then moved to DW where I was 2ic until Elmikey and co took over, where I then led the rebellion against them that eventually flopped, hopped around for a bit before joining WV in 2014 for 3ic, eventually became leader that summer, led until August, worked as advisor for the next year or so, and then went into hiding until 2020
in 2020 I reopened the Shadow Troops, which then merged with the Warlords of Kosmos to make the Golden Guardians, which then turned into WV
lead WV through its revival until late 2020
notable wars I led would be against Nachos and SWAT in 2014, and then against TCP, SWAT, and DW in 2020
Viv: Joined the Doritos of Club Penguin in late 2019, and became the Main Leader of DCP in January 11, 2020. retired on August 9, 2020 from the Doritos of Club Penguin. Joined WV shortly after because I was there for the Eagre Foray war that started on the 26th. I think I was one role below leader in at least November 2020. In December it looks like I led some cc rooms. Im having a hard time finding when I became WV leader tbh.
Idk if it counts but I also led a small army called most wanted for a little bit in like 2019 or early 2020.
How long did you lead WV?
Pjayo: All together a little over a calendar year
Viv: Uhhhh I’m not sure tbh. It was maybe only a few months before mass doxxings started happening that shut down CPA and I had to leave for safety reasons
It literally may have been only like 2 months before that shit happened
Who were your closest friends in WV?
Pjayo: It’s amazing but most of my closest friends from WV joined after my retirement, it’s really Aaron and Dino all the way down
For what its worth, at the time Revan and I had a lot of problems but I’d say we’re pretty close now
Also want to mention Bryce obviously, who I’ve known since 2014
Viv: Superhero was my closest friend I think. I considered myself friends with Misty too.
What is one of the best memories you have in WV?
Viv: Hmmmm while winning the Eagre Foray war back in the day was great, I think when I remember back to 2020 and 2021, it’s going to sound silly but one of the best memories I have was like a lot of the leaders and hcom and staff all coming together to watch this horrible movie called The Room. We were just laughing at it, making funny comments about it in VC and chat. It was just a good time like friends hanging out.
Pjayo: It is without a doubt the absolute destruction of SWAT in the first Eagre Foray. What was once an incredibly competitive war turned into a brutal stomp towards the end. I loved every second.
If you could bring back one thing from your era of WV into this one, what would it be?
Viv: One thing I’d bring back, is more leniency on funny, cheeky tactics that aren’t hurtful to people. So, just for example, I used to do tactics that were like
OUR DOCK IS BIGGER THAN YOURS
I SHOWED YOU MY HOCKEY STICK PLS RESPOND
WATER YOU DOING STEP BRO
And just generally sort of meme-y things like that. Obviously some were a lil cheeky. They weren’t hurtful, harassing, threatening, etc. to people though of course, and none of them use bad words or anything. At that time, it wasn’t uncommon for armies to do a few tactics like that, like it absolutely wasn’t just me. I do sometimes miss doing funny tactics like that. They aren’t allowed anymore though, TCP got me banned from CPAB for 2 weeks for just suggesting one of them in the WV discords tactic suggestion channel in like 2024. In the main CPA discord server and the majority of army servers you’ll find messages of similar caliber being said, or even more inappropriate though, which is interesting. I just like memes lol and being able to do some meme-y ones that are in good fun and not hurtful to people or anything, are fun to me, but unfortunately even mildly inappropriate or cheeky ones are a no-go now. So I wish I could bring back being able to do some meme-y mildly cheeky tactics that are not hurtful, harassment or threatening
Pjayo: If I could bring anything back, it’s probably the appetite for war. The over tournamentification of armies has been disastrous imo and we need to be beating each other to death like we used to. I love our allies very much but oh man wouldn’t it be cool to see WV and ACP or RPF duke it out for real?
Viv and Pjayo worked hard to make WV’s return to Club Penguin Armies strong, and they showed this by dominating against SWAT in the first Eagre Foray war. Despite the turmoil in the community, they treaded through some of the earliest stages of the CPPS era and set some of the stepping stones for WV’s future.
