Emjay – Hello my lovely Vikings! Another week, another opportunity to praise the wonderful members of our community whose amazing work does not go unnoticed. Let’s hear what this week’s winners had to say!

Viking of the Week: Galleon

Interview by Emjay

What is your favourite thing about WV?

Getting to know new people and making friends! Chatting with folks and making silly jokes is hands down the best part of WV!!

What do you look forward to contributing more in our community?

Honestly just helping folks if I can. I may not be as knowledgeable as the staff are, but if i can lend a hand somewhere i will always do my best to

How does it feel to get VOTW?

geez it’s a little unexpected lol; we have so many great members who all contribute to our viking community, so it’s an honor to be chosen amongst all of them!

Give us your favorite fun fact to get to know you a bit more 🙂

okay folks don’t tell anyone but i’m like… a sailing ship nerd,, i’m obsessed with old timey ships and how they work/were made. i need to brush up on my ship types but my dream is to someday be a part of the crew of a frigate or a galleon (haha yes ironic i know)

Staff of the Week: Jess

Interview by Anna

Tell me about yourself and your trajectory as a staff member in WV!

November 1st was 8 months since I joined WV! When I joined, I had no idea what this community was, but I am so glad to be here. I never knew Club Penguin Armies were a thing, let alone did I think I would be a Staff Member! I have progressed in a few short months since I became staff, but I look forward to continuing to grow on the Staff Team.

What would you say is the most rewarding thing about being a staff member?

The engagement with our troops, other staff, and helping everyone. It is nice to plan things for the Parka Committee (Movie Nights, Game Nights, etc.) and make sure to keep the environment engaging, fun, and safe. It’s a great feeling to see everyone in chat and the strength of our community.

What is your favorite task in WV?

Honestly, engaging with troops. Answering questions, showing them around, and just keeping the conversation alive. We all work together as one to be the best army that we can be.

What is some advice you’d give to a Staff-in-Training or a Troop that aspires to be Staff?

Keep pushing! Show your enthusiasm and drive to become Staff. Help others, get involved, and never doubt yourself and what you are capable of. As I said above, we are all here to work together and be the best army that we can be. It starts with each and every one of us.

Welcomer of the Week: Galleon

Interview by Vill

What motivates you to welcome?

Helping new people get settled and become part of our community! Plus, having more people at events is always fun 🙂

What is the best part about welcoming?

Genuinely, being able to help folks! if they’ve got something they don’t understand or need extra explaining, i’m always happy to be of service teehee

Who inspired you to start welcoming?

Hm, thats a toughie… i’d have to say Jess! Her talking about how WVRR isnt just about recruiting but also welcoming i think sold me on the idea haha

What is something you’d say to someone who is scared to welcome?

don’t be! worst they can say is no, and you have a whole staff team at your back if something goes wrong or you need help. also a bit of advice: don’t feel confined to following the script! welcoming your own way makes it feel more human, less automated, and is more probable to actually get someone verified.

Emjay – There you have it, friends. A huge congrats to all who received an award this week, we’re incredibly proud and we hope you keep up the wonderful work. See you next time!
