Hey Hey my lovely vikings!! It’s been a WHILE since I’ve written one of these!! I did a bit of reworking in terms of when this column would air, so I’m happy to welcome you all to The Weekly Monthly Warhorn, a new and improved monthly recap of all things WV! In this column, we will go over what the army has been up to in terms of events and other notable occasions as so fit. Stay a while and get your Rune Readings to prepare for the upcoming month, so let’s get started and go over this October with the Water Vikings!!
This past month has been a wild one!! To lead us in, a few things happened at the end of September:
Stevos and Escot Retirement | We saw the retirement of not one but two leaders at the very end of September. Escot announced retirement and not even a few days later, Stevos announced he was retiring as well. I think I can speak for all of WV when I say, it was a sudden and shocking turn of events. Even though it was difficult, WV all wished them the best in their future activities!!
Staff Promotions | After the retirement of two leaders, a BUNCH of staff received promotions! The biggest promotions came from Anna, Sarah and Emjay. All three were double promoted on their staff journeys due to the incredible work, from the creation of the Lusohispanic Division or keeping the community fun and safe! Other members who received promotions on this day include Kev, Jess, Aleks and Popes. Congrats to all the promo receivers as we went into October!
With those major events capping off the month of September, we can head into the October events:
The Dawn of the Crypt Activities | Our Parka Division hosted a LOT of events for this month, Spooky Season!! On top of the numerous movies that were hosted, we saw another scavenger hunt! Isagi hosted this event, and similar to the Beach Bash event, hiding different emojis around the server for our members to find. If a member found all of the listed emojis, they could win the special role event role. Multiple members completed this fun hunt and now have this special role for the rest of their time in the Water Vikings!! The wheel also chose who could get the event role as well. In the Luck of Doom, members could react to get added to the pool of members. Isagi would spin the wheel and whoever’s luck favored them, they would get the role as well as 75 silver! Congrats to Emjay, Anna, Ronan, Hydra and Kyle on having great luck!! Finally, members could submit to various contests. Weekly contests included Physical Art, CPAB/CPJ Outfits, Best Igloo and Best Pumpkin! Congrats to Starzy, Sarah and Sean for Physical Art; Snow, Kobie and Kai for CPAB/CPJ Outfits; Snow, Galleon, and Kai for Best Igloo; and Marsh, Juno and Kai for Best Pumpkin!!
October Horrors Competition | We faced off against ACP and Help Force during the October Horrors Competition. This was a three-way battle, with all of the armies on the same field and the same time!! We fought the good fight in this competition and placed Second!!
CPJ Parties | Over on Club Penguin Journey, the Vikings experienced some fun parties this month! First, the Food Fest filled all our viking bellies with treats and goodies! Even though Puffle Paddle and Feed A Puffle may have made us rage, we all still had a blast! Club Penguin itself has officially turned old enough to DRINK (at least in the United States). Club Penguin turned 21 and we were able to celebrate with CPJ and a cute lil anniversary party! We got some free watermelon themed items from this party. Finally, the biggest party started, the Crimson Moon Halloween Party. Vikings got to pick their factions and go trick or treating in other members igloos to get their spooky items. Don’t let the 52,000+ required Moon Candies scare you too much!
Weekly Rewards Return | Our Weekly Awards made a return this month! Weekly, we highlight members of the army who have gone above and beyond the call of action for the Vikings. After a long hiatus, Lydia resurrected the awards as well as established a dedicated staff team for writing and interviewing the winners.
Vikings Academy October Graduates | WV is full of all kinds of amazing members who want to see the army thrive. We host a class called Vikings Academy for those who are ready to take the next step from troop to staff! We had four members make the plunge!! Mary, Snow, Rose and Lethanaero all graduated from the Academy this month, going from troop to staff! HUGE congrats to them!!
Goodbye to some, Hello to others | One thing that happens across all armies are retirements and vets coming back to staff. Over the month, Pingo, Mes and Mr. West had announced their retirement from the Water Vikings. We will miss them but thank them for their efforts while on the staff team! A number of previous staff members have also rejoined the team! We welcomed back Noa, Ango and Stefan to the team! Welcome back to the good fight!!
Lusohispanic Divison | I personally just wanted to highlight the newest division for all the events and hard work our team has been putting into this. Through this division, WV has been able to branch out to a new group of Vikings and expand our army to new heights! Keep up the great work!
As we head into the next month with the Water Vikings, I leave you with some Rune Readings to guide your decisions through the month!
Leaders – The Water Vikings shall soon face a challenge that will test their unity and determination. Those who stand together will discover that even the largest obstacles can be overcome. Remember, a true Viking does not abandon ship when the waters become rough.
HCOM – Many penguins will become discouraged by harsh conditions, but the Water Vikings shall endure. November may bring unexpected difficulties, but they will also provide opportunities to prove your strength. When the storm finally passes, those who remained standing will have much to celebrate.
Staff – This fortune predicts a month filled with positive energy and exciting social opportunities. Take a break from the battlefield every once in a while. Even the fiercest Viking deserves a chance to dance beside the jukebox!
Veterans – An old legend tells of a Viking fleet that disappeared during an expedition many centuries ago. Their ships have supposedly been spotted beyond the horizon, sailing beneath a brilliant blue moon. Their return symbolizes the revival of old traditions and forgotten ambitions. The Water Vikings may find inspiration in their history this month. Remember where your army came from, and let that history motivate where it goes next.
Troops – You may soon experience unexpected success, receive recognition, or discover a new opportunity. However, fortune favors those who are prepared. Continue working hard, and be ready when your moment arrives.
AUSIA Division – Warm winds are blowing across the southern seas, carrying news of exciting developments. The AUSIA division may experience a period of renewed activity and enthusiasm. Let these winds guide your penguins toward greater achievements.
EU Division – Ships from distant European kingdoms have gathered beyond the horizon. Their sails are raised, and their crews are prepared for an extraordinary voyage. This symbolizes a month of ambition and renewed determination. The division must be ready to seize every opportunity.
AM Division – A golden statue has appeared in the center of the Town, depicting a penguin wearing an ancient Viking helmet. The statue is said to represent the spirit of those who pursue greatness. Your hard work may soon earn you a place among the division’s most respected penguins.
LH Division – Colorful decorations have appeared throughout the Plaza, signaling the arrival of a magnificent carnival. The LH division shall experience a month filled with memorable moments and new friendships. Your enthusiasm will be contagious, spreading throughout the Water Vikings.
This has been The Monthly Warhorn with your host Marsh, see ya next time!!
