Frostbite, Water Vikings Capital – Hello Vikings, the unc from the shadows known as Aleks is here to present to you an unexpected information for the future of Water Vikings. Our beloved commander Lydia retired after her event where she led us for the final time in her career here. We appreciate all of her work for our army and we hope she will come back someday in the future. As a short history of her, she joined into armies in 2019 for Doritos, but shortly after joined the Ice Warriors. Some other armies she was in were Templars, Underground Mafia Army and lastly, Water Vikings. More information about her history is available to read here. She joined the Vikings under Dino, Cabin and Mabel leadership but remained till today from Raven’s leadership.
Before she gained the leader title, she was a key player for the army. Some of the achievements Vikings earned by then was winning the Candy Crusher Brawl tournament. As a leader, she led us on several tournaments, such as Christmas Chaos semifinals and March Madness semifinals. The greatest achievement she earned was placing Water Vikings into 3rd place on the Legends Cup XVI tournament.

Our interviewer Rose shared with us some informations about Lydia’s story as Viking Commander downwards.
How was your experience being a leader?
My experiences as a leader was amazing. I was handed WV during a very rough patch and it was pretty hard at first but it was nice being able to slowly fix things and help pave the way to where modern WV is now. I am very grateful I was given these opportunities to do this for the army.
What is a memorable moment for you while being in this position?
I believe the most memorable moment for me while in this position is actually most recently with that LC RPF battle. It showed how our community has grown. The army went from inactivity with a lot of staff and a low staff expectation to a community with high staff expectation and hard working staff.
What is a factor that made you stay with the Water Vikings and become a leader?
I would say the community and my motivation to help fix up WV and transform it to be more sustainable in the future. I was very grateful I was given such a small motivated team and watched them grow into a huge powerhouse that helped pave the way to the way WV now currently runs. When I first rejoined WV I wanted to work my way from troop all the way to HCOM. The state of WV when I wanted to do that is what made me want to step back into a staff position and that culture WV was in at the time.
Do you have any advice for our future leaders?
Do not be afraid to speak up about what you feel is right. Do not stand on the sidelines and allow things to happen. Speak up with you feel like you need to, and make sure to think all of your actions through before doing them.
What is one thing you will miss as a leader?
I feel like I am definitely going to miss the power I had and the influence I had when I first started leading. I am getting busier as the days go on, and I am doing more and more things. It hasn’t been easy to do things like it used to be during my first months as leader.
Do you have any plans after retiring? Will you still be part of CPA and/or WV?
I do! I will still be apart of CPA and WV. I will be keeping my role as Viking Academy Staff-in-Training Minister. I will also still be active on Discord and such but I just have very little time to put into WV as a whole and I believe me keeping my leadership role while being semi-inactive would just be a negative impact on the staff culture we have.
Thanks for assisting us at her retirement event, which can be read here and we wish Lydia happy retirement and all the thanks for what she did for us in the army. Hail the Vikings!
