What is Legends Cup?

    • The tournament season just started in Club Penguin Armies, and for a lot of you, it is all new. Your Water Vikings team sat down to explain what it is and why it is important for the army. Let’s dive in!

    What’s a tournament?

    What’s a tournament? What is the Legends Cup, and why is this so important? These are likely the questions you have in mind, and I hope this helps.

    What’s a tournament? A tournament in CPA is a moment where you take all the armies and make them face each other in brackets until you have a winner in the finals. Two armies against each other, three rooms for about thirty minutes. The winner of the round will go to the next bracket until they reach the finals.

    Hey WV, I have a fun fact about Legend Cups. Are you ready? Did you know, the Legends Cup was created in July 2010, while Water Vikings was born on December 28, 2010. It seems that the tournament itself is older than our army! But don’t worry, it didn’t stop Water Vikings from joining the second Legends Cup!

    During big tournaments, we are often invited to create a unique uniform. Last year, the Vegas lights were glowing in CPA, the theme? Casino! Wearing a fluffy Viking helmet with a suit and a bowtie, Water Vikings were ready to kick the tournament.

    Water Vikings participation in Legends Cup

    Since the foundation of Water Vikings, the army has taken part in the following Legends Cup:

    Water Vikings reached the semi-finals in 2013, 2023 and 2025, and they reached the finals in 2015, 2016, and 2022. WV was in the finals. Quite a ride! So close, yet Water Vikings is one of the only armies that did not get their hands on the LC trophy. Maybe this year can be different?

    Legends Cup and its importance

    Legends Cup is one of the oldest tournaments in Club Penguin Armies. Happening between the months of July and August, it is the perfect opportunity for all the armies to show how hard they worked during the beginning of the year in a themed event. It is where everyone will go all out in every possible way! The maxes are often high because everyone keeps the reserve and puts it all in for LC.

    You might say: Well, every tournament is always big in CPA. You are right, armies love a friendly competition, but the Legends Cup is kinda the big deal for many armies, and for the occasion of our post, we went to interview some people in the leadership, HCOV and a special guest…!

    How would you describe the Legends Cup in a few words?

    Stevos (WV Leader): the biggest and historic CPA tournament
    Aaronstone (Head of HCOV): It’s a historic tournament, basically our version of a championship that everyone does their best to win and brings the best out of every army participating
    Cobra (HCOV): Time of year everyone goes try-hard
    Jojo Teri (CPA CEO): LC is the most legendary and prestigious tournament that there is. All armies try their best in it, and the stakes are the highest. It is THE tournament of the year.
