Important Note: While I am sure many people at WV express similar opinions here, this was written on my own accord and I did not even run it past anyone at WV. This is a representation of my opinion. If I say something that might hurt your feelings a bit, don’t hold it against WV as a whole. Fling your poop at me instead. I also wrote this post not trying to be overly philosophical, so do not expect me to break down things with Aristotelean logic.
If you are aware of my career, you’ll know I’m no stranger to war. I had a pretty major presence in warfare back in 2017-2019, and even though I was more lowkey in 2023-2024 EGCP, I still played an essential role in all of EGCP’s wars like I did in the generation prior. However, I’m also no stranger to avoiding warfare. When I was active in Water Vikings, I only had one war in mind that I wanted: a war with DCP. I worked to have WV be in a situation where a war against a large DCP would still have decent odds for us. However, by the time that WV was in a stage where I felt increasingly confident in our abilities to carry out the war, DCP was exploding internally and I did not feel that comfortable beating a dead horse. I changed my plan to simply not engage in warfare altogether and focus on preserving internal energy and momentum for the Legends Cup tournament that was around the corner. This, for us, was the right move as even though we did not win Legends Cup, I’m quite certain we wouldn’t have been the second best army that tournament without that strategy in mind. To achieve that strategy, I definitely did play a part in placing WV in a spot where we were allied with the other majors, to serve as a means of keeping beef low so we could preserve energy. I know many are not a fan of that strategy, but nevertheless it paid off.
Following Legends Cup, we were still at our peak and were really only challenged by RPF for that period. We had a plan to fight a war against Aliens, for which I drafted up a series of preparations required to do such. I did not blatantly support pulling the trigger and left it up to my co-leaders and HCOM, as my activity was decreasing, hence the document that they could follow to prepare for the war. We ultimately did not go for the war.
The point of this context is just to illustrate that I can understand why some majors avoid war outright, and absolutely understand why we go to war. I’ve played both sides of this situation and therefore I feel I have the insight to speak on the situation at hand.
This post is being written following the war against Aliens and Scarlet Republic, where we gave support to the Army of Club Penguin’s war effort. What motivated this post specifically was the pathetic exit of the war by Aliens and Scarlet Republic, as you can read here. This was following a controversy that they conveniently exploited to try to gain pity and justification for their surrender, which is detailed more in this CPA post here. I do not intend on breaking down the points leading to their surrender, because all of the “issues” they brought up were mentioned in my response in the Water Vikings server (which again, is funny because it appears that only Aliens were the ones really pedaling this issue because most people have enough reading comprehension and contextual understanding to understand our war declaration post). I’m intending to point out how: the point has been proven.
I had to add this as a side note because I was laughing reading this. I did not know Billy Bawb judged a battle against Aliens with us, but this isn’t even the battle that I was taking issue with specifically. I love the lack of reading comprehension on our post LOL. You can see the actual referenced battle here
You Call Yourselves Leaders?
The issue of a lack of warfare has been prevailing quite a bit last year, although at times the old heads sound like a broken record by overstating the issue at hand. Nevertheless, it is clear that the major armies with the exception of ACP, played it safer generally. This was a major criticism of the Aliens army specifically, as they played it incredibly safe that year, only fighting back ACP when ACP went to war against them.
A lot of people point to the issue of a decrease of meaningful wars over the past years as being related to issues of the judging system, the tournament meta, the increased age of leaders, the existence of force treaties, and simply being a coward. These are all valid reasons and are exactly the problems at hand. However, I wanted to directly call out the people who were trying to call us “cowards” as a means of cope.
I mainly point to this announcement specifically, where we see in the first paragraph that SR and Aliens pulled the plug on the war in part due to the the large effort it would take to fight 3 major armies. This is a bit exaggerated, as RPF was only minimally involved, so it’s realistically only about 2.
This is where I point out my criticism: you call yourselves leaders? In 2018, RPF declared war on Templars, an army that was 2-3 times smaller than them. We at Templars utilized networking, our relationships, and turned hatred against RPF for diplomatic advantages, pulling Pizza Federation, Omegas, EGCP, Sharks, etc. into the war, causing World War VII, which allowed us to have better odds and ultimately pull out the victory. Again, you call yourselves leaders?
In 2023, EGCP felt that ACP was coming for them, as EGCP was on a massive rise and beginning to overtake ACP as the dominant army. We convinced WV and RPF to join us in war (World War IX as it would become) against ACP, which made it almost certain that we could sweep through ACP. However, ACP was able to utilize their self-righteous S/M allies in their favor, and use them as a means of buffering the battles, to minimize ACP land loss. What turned from a war that was highly not in ACP’s favor, ended up becoming a strategic success for them, with WV and RPF taking the biggest hits following the war. You call yourselves leaders?
Also in late 2023, during Christmas Chaos, ACP, TCP, PIC, CC, and POM all joined together for a war against EGCP, known as the Christmas Crusade. Initially, we thought we were done for, and played it off by ignoring most of the battles that we could at first, while preparing for Christmas Chaos. Eventually, we entered the war in full force, and were able to exploit the poor organizational skills of that coalition (it was quite bad) and win the war. You call yourselves leaders?
My point here is that when the odds are seemingly against you, you can turn it in your favor by utilizing successful strategy. That was why we pushed to end the 1v1 war terms, because it requires people to actually think on a grand scale and network more efficiently. It is ironic too, because VT was sending aid to Aliens and SR in this war, and apparently were trying to get other S/M armies to come to their aid. This would’ve greatly increased the odds for them, and potentially would’ve let the war turn into a World War. I’ll give props to Ugly if this truly is the case, because it seems like he actually cares about war far more than most of you guys. Once again, you call yourselves leaders?
Political Pity Points
A big part of playing the CPA game in recent years is to over politicize the wars by finding some morally righteous excuse to start or leave a war. A lot of war declarations often have some massive expose post attached to them nowadays, which has been criticized quite extensively and has gotten stale. I’ve written two war declaration posts that were meant to not be taken that seriously, like EGCP’s war against Templars in 2024, and the war against Aliens just a few days ago, and both times people didn’t take time to understand what was even be said and instead took it overly seriously, in an attempt to find a way to act morally righteous. To an extent, I love it, because it truly shows how pathetic people can be, and it certainly demotivates having an unserious war declaration post.
Like I mentioned, it applies to leaving the war too. The first time I experienced this in full force was in 2023, following the war that ACP declared on EGCP. The war was quite fun, and EGCP was turning the tide against ACP by the second half and beginning to win. However, Lass, EGCP leader, had an oopsie with a tactic that while when I read it I understood it, it definitely in retrospect was not the right way to convey what he was trying to say (it looks to be very transphobic, although he did not mean it that way). ACP was already quite exhausted and clearly realizing that they weren’t going to win this war, and the tactic angered a fair amount of ACP troops, who were already annoyed with EGCP’s conduct. Ultimately, because of the dodgy language of the tactic, ACP was given the option to use this as a force treaty and end the war, and after deliberation, they do so. Now, I do consider this cowardly and I consider it a really large knock towards those ACP leaders (although I at least praise them for starting the war and going along with WWIX), and I consider this to be a standout example of this kind of conduct. ACP also utilized a force treaty against a doxxing incident with DCP in early 2025, which was definitely a dodgy situation and I still consider it part of this, but not as bad as the 2023 example.
As an aside, I greatly respect and love our allies ACP, so this is friendly criticism towards past actions, and not me berating them like I will do to others.
Now, this points to my issues that I took with Aliens and Scarlet Republic in this warfare. Obviously, they were not going to exit the war by admitting they were cowards, they instead were going to exploit whatever they could to use as a moral justification to exit the war. Fortunately for them, I “gave” them an excuse to use (although it seems a lot of people knew full well they were going to exit even without the justification). What bothers me the most here is that this isn’t even as dodgy as the 2023 tactic incident with EGCP, this is significantly more tamer that it seems most people acknowledge. Aliens instead, ignored all of the context presented about the joke that was written, associated it to Diddy (which, for the record, it was not a Diddy joke. I cannot believe I have to explain this, but the baby oil was used to convey “glaze” and if it was a Diddy joke, it would have the roles reversed since Aliens are the ones benefitting in the story), and then tried to push that one of the most common filler names in the United States was actually a CPA judge minor. I already explained the absurdity of this in my “explaining the joke” announcement in WV, and I find it funny that they chose the completely incorrect battle when trying to make their point.
The point I’m trying to make here, is that this is just another case of whining, trying to get pity points, and not actually reading into things with context or any critical understanding in an attempt to make a moral justification to exit a war. Only this time, they couldn’t force treaty their way out of this, because unfortunately for them, the CPA Admins are not allowed to smoke meth anymore. I sound like a broken record, but, you call yourselves leaders?
A Loss of Respect
To be blunt, I always took an issue with Aliens since late 2024, when I realized how the army was being positioned. I was pretty well aware that there was a degree of righteousness in this army that led to some of them gunning for notoriety in the community, such as CPA Legend, and when I saw 2025 it became too obvious to some of us. It did not help that their playing of the friendly character helped position them in a good position reception wise, and while they definitely had some success, it was definitely overblown quite a bit once you consider the most significant battles of the main tournaments this year did not even include them, and that their TTOTY presence was quite underwhelming compared to the hype that they were given. Yes, it is convenient for me to say a lot of this because WV lost to Aliens in some controversial outcomes, but this feeling has existed for longer than that.
Nevertheless, I respected BP specifically as a good leader for Aliens internally. Resurrecting an army from scratch and building it from nothing by utilizing a clever marketing campaign on CP Journey by being a celebrity was smart, and it paid off significantly as 2025 was their best year, and while I think their success was exaggerated, they were still significantly successful nonetheless in their tournament victories and decent top ten presence. With that, I respected BP as a decent contemporary leader who at least deserves a good mention (not legend), and he got that with his POTY Runner-Up.
However, this respect has switched up quite significantly when he merely proved all of the criticisms about him and his army. Playing it safe, gunning the system, and dipping when they saw a threat to their success, and using some moral justification to try to explain it away and minimize the reputational damage. However, I don’t think this succeeded and it appears that some of those who respected Aliens were definitely a bit let down by this. I actually was, because I personally didn’t see them dipping the war, I thought they were going to truly utilize a S/M bufferzone and try to fight back with a strong force, turning this into a World War. They didn’t do that. They merely proved the critiques.
Avoiding war to maximize success, which although it has hurt the community, at least makes sense. However, CPA has always had an element of LARP and honor when it came to war, and seeing that get spit on by a newer generation is disappointing to a lot of us who actually thrived off of warfare and considered it the main attraction of CPA. I originally gave Aliens the benefit of the doubt of actually taking the war head on against ACP when it was presented in front of them with this mindset: “hey, even if they won’t start a war at least they will take one that is presented to them”. Unfortunately, this mindset no longer exists, as they ran away with the first chance they could, instead of being a man and actually seeing the end of this war. No wonder ACP-EGCP in 2024 gets the reputation it has.
So with that, what is to respect? At least RPF, who thought they were going to lose the TWO war (who, keep in mind, had many characters that were definitely not in any moral high ground position), actually took it on. That leaves me with my main critique to the leadership of Aliens and Scarlet Republic: do you honestly call yourselves leaders?
Fin
Now, there is an actual existential issue of why warfare has increasingly went on the back burner, but I only sought to address the issues that were present in this warfare specifically, and tried to call it to other examples of this going on, or people doing the exact opposite when presented with the issues at play. If you would like to read up on the overall situation at play, here you go:

I’m sure the fictional Billy CPA Judge is praising Aliens’ decision to cower out of a war despite trying to act like we were the cowards all along. Have fun living in your own bubble at the detriment of the community.
