It is time
Another major tournament is here upon us in December. This isn’t just some random tournament; it is Christmas Chaos XV (15). This is once again a big tournament for Club Penguin Armies this year, exactly how it was with Legends Cup. This is a huge leap forward for the future of what’s to come within the Water Vikings. We are here once again at the chance of winning something that has been cherished to win in the past year or so.
You see, this winter marks two years ever since we had achieved victory with our Christmas Chaos trophy in 2023 against the Elite Guardians of Club Penguin. The other Christmas Chaos runs before 2023 were heartbreaking, as we failed to bring home victory. Water Vikings sat out of the tournament for the 2024 and 2022 seasons due to internal affairs within the army and our performance with those times from burnout. In 2021 we fell short in the Quarter Finals, getting swept by our former ally at the time Help Force. We were also eliminated quite early in 2020 as well. Quite frankly, we’ve fallen short of victory too many times, the recent being Legends Cup XV, where we were locked out of the room in overtime. Currently throughout this year and the middle to the end of 2024, WV has been on a tournament curse constantly getting eliminated. Aliens and RPF have been dominating us for too long and it’s time to put an end to this curse once and for all, now is the time to get that trophy win we’ve been yearning for.
Lately, we’ve been consistently attaining a high place in the Top Ten since the September Drop after Legends Cup. Obviously, it was bound to happen, but our work hasn’t dropped down yet. In this Blue Summer we caught up to RPF in less than 3 months of hard work that almost got us into the finals. I’m confident we have the work rate to pull it off again for this winter, and to bring home the trophy that is rightfully ours to win. RPF will be hard to beat, but we still have a chance to pull off the win if we put in the work again. We all want this; I also want this personally. The goal isn’t to beat RPF, the goal is to win Christmas Chaos. Trust me, Water Vikings have always been the underdogs in big tournaments like this one. I’m pretty sure Dino or Aaron can even recall to WV being underdogs in bigger tournament battles against better armies on paper than us, but we have beaten them against all odds before. Even in Christmas Chaos 2023. We were against armies like Help Force and ACP in the early stages and majority of the community favored them over us. Guess what happened? We won LOL.
We can do this everyone, we have a better chance to win the tournament than we had in Legends Cup. I advise you all to keep attending the events, be active, and to hype up some events so we can continue the momentum now to win later. Now with all that in mind, I’m proud to announce a new project and challenge for everyone in the army to participate in – Christmas Chaos: Operation Blizzard. The Gameplan
Operation Blizzard is our growth of the army, preparation for Christmas Chaos, and a competition designed by the leadership and Advisory in order to incentivize, and reward those who genuinely care about the army, that assist in growing our numbers that are essential for our army and boosting our momentum. This will be a type of competition to basically see who are the best at growing and helping out the army.
How To Participate
Every member in Water Vikings is welcome to participate in the competition; however, you must be a member of the Water Vikings Recruiting Regiment. To join WVRR, you must sign up in the #wvrr-signups channel in the server. Once it is approved to go, you must message myself, esc0t27 to participate in the competition.
How It Works
This competition is built around the growth of the server. This can take place in two ways: Recruiting and Welcoming.
Recruiting
Recruiting is when you invite someone to join the Water Vikings server. You can do this by inviting your friends or inviting people you find around other servers or anywhere else. It’s recommended you use a discord alt account in order to avoid your main from getting flagged in the future by recruiting on it only. If you need help on recruiting, message a @Viking Commander for assistance!
Welcoming
This is very key in the army. Many of you one day randomly got messaged by a staff member in the server in order to be verified. To welcome someone, you must react on the message of a new recruit joining in the #verification channel, and then dm them and to try to get them to create an account on CPA Battleground. The way you approach this is very important because people generally join and participate for other kinds of reasons. Its best to understand what people want. You should also keep in touch with those you welcome to get them to come to events and be active in the server.
If you have any questions on this, please message a @Viking Commander. The best time to get in some recruits and welcomes is to participate in the recruiting sessions, often ran by the Recruiting Committee.
The Points System
For each task done, people will receive points. Those few with the most amount of points will receive positions on the leaderboard. Points:
Recruit – 20 points, bonus of 10 if they attend an event, bonus of 25 per 15 recruits.
Welcome – 40 points (bonus of 20 with walkthrough completed), bonus of 10 points if they attend an event, bonus of 25 points per 10 welcomes
Event Attendance – 5 points, bonus of 10 points if you attend 5 in a row.
Tournament Battle Attendance – 10 points
Event Pictures – .5 points per pictre
(Staff Only) Event Post – 15 points
(Staff Only) Tactics Suggested – .5 points per tactic suggested
Rewards
We move on now to the goodies. Rewards will be counted for the top 5 people on the leaderboard. Some honorable mentions may be nominated as well for some silver that can be used for some items to purchase in the shop.
1st – $30 in any deliverable form
2nd – $20 in any deliverable form
3rd – $15 in any deliverable form
4th – Boost Nitro (or an equivalent, like 3000 silver)
5th – Classic Nitro (or an equivalent like 2000 silver)
Additionally
As the tournament draws even nearer, we need to work on the growth more. This brings us together to also participate in this competition to bring us even closer to something we have all desired for a year or so. Even if you aren’t doing this for the rewards and are doing this for the cause of winning, I hope you see this as a gratitude of thanks for helping out.
